Globalisation

1) our news influenced by American cultural imperialism? What examples can you think of?

One example news being influenced by American Cultural Imperialism is CNN news started to offer 24/7 news in which many were the first to do so. This means that people in the UK viewed the channel at a time convenient to them and absorbed the ideologies presented in the American news. Also sky then started to offer 24/7 news which means people in the UK had a choice from Sky and CNN in which less people then watched CNN news.

2) Has the increased globalisation of news improved the audience experience? How? Why?

The increase in globalisation has improved audience experience as people can view content that has been published from USG content. This means that people can witness raw footage in which there is not any views from the news which people are told to believe. Also globalisation means that news corporation can reached an increased number of people in which audiences can view different types of news content from those different news corporations making audiences have greater opinions on the news.

3) Has globalisation benefited or damaged major news institutions? How? Why?

I think that globalisation has benefited major news institution as news companies offer their online services abroad in which new institutions such as Daily Mail Online has been viewed more in America when it is a news institution from the UK.
- However news institutions have been affected as local newspapers have been affected the most. This is because local newspapers are not read as people do not buy newspapers anymore in which news is readily available online.
