Globalisation and the media - wider issues

1) Why was Google Glass controversial?
- People are becoming less engaged in conversation with other people.
- How would public be aware if people are filming with the Google glass, which is seen as a privacy concern
- Picks up sound which means peoples conversation can be recorded without them knowing , privacy concern
]
2) What are the positive elements to Globalisation that the article highlights?

The spread of the service inevitably displays globalisation, it allows people to become more accessible, and people are enriched with knowledge and access to learning things people otherwise have no access to.Increased choice and opportunities empower people, while access to information can enhance not only the ability to make informed decisions but even the democratic process.

3) What are potential negatives to Globalisation?

A negative from this article states that smaller corporations have little or no hope of staking a claim in the global market. This is because smaller companies will not be able to complete.

4) What is a techno-panic? How does it link to moral panics?

A moral panic that centres around the fear of regarding a specigfic contemporary technology , this links to moral panic as techno panic expresses an increasing grown which is what moral panic does.

5) What is your opinion on the privacy debate and major corporations being able to access large quantities of personal data?

I believe that large coroporations should not be able to access large amounts of data without anyones consent. Also the fact the large corporations such as google accessing large amounts of data is a marketing strategy which is not good.
